AledoTV.com is a next step in the evolution of The Community News in Aledo, Texas.
A little History:
Aledo was little more than a village when its first newspaper, a small operation run by Wally Dixson, was published in the 1980s. In 1985 Dixson sold the paper to Eldon Norris and it became The Clear Fork News, a tabloid in size. Its most popular feature was Eldon’s column, “It Seems to Me.” As the computer age loomed Eldon hired some help and the paper grew into a broadsheet. Norris sold the paper in 1990 and the office moved to Weatherford. Mark Riley sold the paper to Randy Keck in 1995, and Keck moved the office back to Aledo. In 1997 the paper outgrew its space and moved to a larger building. The paste-up board gave way to a full-blown computerized operation in 1997. The paper outgrew its space again in late 2004 and moved to a larger building in Willow Park. At the dawn of 2005 this once very small weekly celebrated 20 years of service to east Parker County. In late 2007 the newspaper moved once again, this time into the former home of owner Randy Keck, an older frame house that was moved from Walnut Street to Pecan Drive when Town and Country Bank bought the property it sat on for a new bank.
